The 2024 Wells Fargo Impact of Women-owned Businesses report revealed that women own 14 million businesses (representing 39.1% of all businesses), employ 12.2 million workers, and generate $2.7 trillion in revenue.
The report brings new awareness to the historical differences in wealth, business experience, size of networks, industry specialization, and capital access—particularly among women of color—that impact women’s ability to start and grow businesses.
